{happy 10th birthday lu}

Happy Birthday to my fun loving girl! Can't believe you are ten years old.  You are a  joy to be with and bring smiles to all who surround you. Stay true and just be you cuz your good at it! Took this photo outside 101 Diner. I loved the wood wall....have to go back and take more photos.

Lu was very stoked on her new converse.  Her feet are as big as mine!
So Lu wanted to go to breakfast before school for her birthday. In her typical way, she asked all her brothers where they  wanted to eat and she came up with a consensus.  She decided on 101 Diner after a long and grueling deliberation....ha ha. We got there at the crack of dawn...no not really, but it felt like it. We had the whole counter to ourselves and got to chat with the owner, Scott, about all the stuff we have been up.  Parker and his son played little league baseball together back in the elementary school days.  They even put a candle in her pancakes and sang happy birthday!  What a way to start the day.
Had to include this photo of Hudson. He never ceases to amaze me with his different photo poses.  He tends to change his look with every click of the camera.  He styles his own hair BTW and buttons all his shirts to the very top.

{look who's been sleeping in my bed!}

It's kinda hard to kick this girl out of my bed when she gives me this look. The...."isn't this my bed" look. She knows where her bed is, but she never gives up trying to get in ours!

{catalina fun....july 2012....iphone photos}

The family...hanging at Pedro's.  Pedro set up an awesome bbq dinner for the Coury and Dulich families. We were included too :)

Lu's "big catch"
Boys hanging down at Descanso beach.  They saw a dead sea gull floating in the water so they made a competition to see who could hit it with a rock.  It was pure entertainment watching them.  It was like they won the lotto when they hit the bird. High fives and big smiles. I love seeing them just hang in the moment. Us parents were enjoying some" Descanso Destroyers" and enjoying every minute of it :)

Hud hoarding all his winning tickets!

Hud's arcade prizes...the little man came home with about 30 skull rings.  I'm still finding them around the house!

This seriously was the "big catch"! It was close to a 40 lb White Sea Bass caught near Seal Rock.  Nolan, Porter, Parker, Alan and John went out early one morning and came back with this fish! There was a big buzz going on around the pier when these boys were carrying it up from the boat.  It took 3 boys to carry it!  They will always remember their first "big catch".

Hud enjoying his soda at Descanso beach.  He is sporting one of his skull rings.

It's hard to eat your ice cream when it's running down your arm and face!

Parker won the Xbox at the arcade. He was the local arcade celebrity for the week.

{life won't ever slow me down}

Life won't ever slow me down....Parker's six word memoir.  We were sitting around the dinner table when Parker started to share this piece of school work with the family. I was just about to ask him what it meant, when he said his teacher asked him what it meant. Parker said, "I play sports and there are times when you come off a lose or had a bad game and people may think you won't be able to come back.  But you have to keep going and not let adversity slow you down. I want to show them wrong." I think I said, "WOW." I wasn't expecting such a well thought out explanation. I thought I might get the life is hard sometimes but you gotta keep chugging response. I have to say I was kinda impressed with his desire to succeed.

On that note....congrats Parker for completing your elementary years at PEC! We were surprised and happy when your name was called to receive the Presidential Academic Award. That meant you have had straight A's since 4ht grade! There were only 9 kids out of your class of 52 to get that award.  So what words of wisdom do I have...hmm? Don't just keep chugging P-man...you keep showing them! lol - xo, mom

{2012 PEC Variety Show}

Lyla (3rd grade) and Hannah (4th grade) wanted to do a jump rope routine for the school variety show.  I gave them a song and they did the rest! They were so cute and were a total crowd pleaser. The girls weren't totally in sync but they jumped their hearts out!

 I also took them to sports authority to pick out a fun outfit :)

Sixth graders, Billy, Jack and Parker, had a dance routine in the variety show.  You should have seen these guys cruising around campus in their morph suits....they drew plenty of attention! I got them on video but it didn't come out well.  Watching them live was too fun and funny :)
