{p-man and his new shoes}

Parker is ten and going into 5th grade.....time flies!

So Parker has been asking to get new shoes for the past few weeks.  He has never been concerned with these types of things before (clothing).  He let's me pick out whatever and his only concern is if it is comfy or not.  Does this mean I might have a fellow shopper in the house?  So, we stopped by Tilly's and picked out a new pair of shoes.  I then asked if he wanted to look at some clothes too and he quickly responded with, "NO MOM,....just the shoes!"  He happily posed for some photos....thank you P-man :)

I overheard a conversation between Porter and Parker on the car ride to football and basketball practice.  Parker was wearing an Under Armor (brand of athletic wear) shirt.  Porter asks, "why do they call it under armor?  It's not armor."  Parker replies, "maybe it is stronger than the other brands."  Porter says, "yeah."  This was a totally serious conversation between an 8 and 10 year old.

{where is my mind?}

Wow, summer has flown by!  School starts next week and I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad about that yet.  Alan has been gone the past week with work travel and helping his Mom move in Texas.  I have been juggling football, baseball, basketball, a camp, and sprinkle in some play dates/sleepovers which equals me saying, "where is my mind?"  I feel at times overwhelmed and then I remind myself how blessed I am to have this life.

Porter had Beach Kids camp at Moonlight beach with a bunch of his friends.  It looks sunny here but the first 2 mornings of camp were raining and the sun barely peeked through those 2 weeks.  Porter had a great time despite the weather, especially because he spent a lot of time with his buddy Tanner.
We all spent the day at Moonlight and since the sun came out that day it was especially packed!  When we got home the kids emptied the vehicle and parked themselves in the sunny dirt!  I was ready for some shade and a shower but not them.  I had to take a pic!
"Mom, put these pants on me."  "Hudson, these pants are from Porter's teddy bear,  (build a bear workshop)." Hudson says, " put them on me, Mommy!"  I tried :)

Amber and Hudson holding Koko.  Can you tell Koko is trying to make an escape?  We kitty sat Koko for a week and we all feel in love with her.  We miss her so much :(  but she is equally loved at her home :)
