#45 has his brick wall up  INTERCEPTION   Okay, so which one of our kids likes doing up downs, running gassers, doing push ups, getting sweaty and dirty, and loves to hit hard? That would be #45 on the Thundering Mavericks Junior Mighty Mite LCCPW team (yeah....Porter). He is having a great time playing cornerback. A cornerback (CB) (also referred to as a corner) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in American and Canadian football.[1] Cornerbacks cover receivers, to defend against pass offenses and make tackles. Other members of the defensive backfield include the safeties and occasionally linebackers. The cornerback position requires speed and agility. A cornerback's skillset typically requires proficiency in anticipating the quarterback, backpedaling, executing single and zone coverage, disrupting pass routes, shedding blockers, and tackling. The team is full of budding talent and we have the best coaches and parents :). He had a nice interception in the last game against Murrietta. In the previous game against Torrey Pines, he had an across the field tackle that kept the shut out. Keep it up Port! We love you and enjoy seeing you have fun. |
